| Urdu novel, “Ek Naav Kagaz Ki” released | | | JAMMU, MARCH 05 The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma today released a book “EK Naav Kagaz Ki”, written by late Vijay Suri, eminent writer, actor, director and producer at a simple but impressive function held at Kala Kendra, here this evening. Mr Mr. Ved Bhasin, Chairperson, Kashmir Times group of publications presided over the function which was organized by The Vijay Suri Foundation in collaboration with Rasa Javedani Memorial Literary Society and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, J&K. Speaking at the occasion, Mr Jugal Kishore Sharma, the hon’ble minister, while remembering Mr. Suri, said he had tremendous talent which was clearly reflected in his dramas, serials and other productions. Besides, he had a significant contribution to Urdu literature also. Ved Bhasin, Chairman, Kashmir Times group of publications, while remembering Suri, said he was an artist, director and theatrist par excellence. Not only that, as a journalist also, he made a significant contribution to the society when he edited, owned and published Daily Ujala, an Urdu newspaper in Jammu in mid-seventies. Dr Rafiq Masoodi, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Jammu remembered Mr. Suri as a man possessing golden voice. Renowned journalist Balraj Puri also spoke about the personality of Mr Vijay Suri saying that “ it was very difficult to find such a multi-dimensional personality”. |
