Ramadan arrangements reviewed at Kupwara, Bandipora

KUPWARA, July 10: In view of the ensuing Holy month of Ramadan commencing from Thursday, a meeting of officers of PHE, PDD, CA&PDS, Revenue, Police, Food Safety, Metrology departments was convened by the Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Mr. Itrat Hussain Rafique here today.
The Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara impressed upon the concerned officers to ensure availability of essential commodities. The officers were directed to intensify the market checking to curb the black marketing, hoardings and profiteering in the markets of Kupwara, Handwara and Karnah during the Holy month of Ramadan.
He also exhorted upon the Municipal Committees for ensuring cleanliness and sanitation around the main mosques in the district.
Itrat Hussain directed the Assistant Commissioner Development, Handwara and Sub Divisional Magistrate, Karnah to ensure the availability of essentials during the month.
Meanwhile, the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Karnah convened a meeting at officers to review the arrangements for the holy month of Ramadan and asked the officers to monitor the supply of essentials and conduct market checkings regularly.
The checking squads were constituted comprising on Police, Legal Metrology department, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution System and Revenue officers on the occasion.
Arrangements for ensuing Ramadan were also reviewed during an officers meeting with Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Zargar in chair at Bandipora.
The Deputy Commissioner on this occasion directed the officers to ensure smooth supply of ration, water supply, electricity and sanitation to facilitate people especially during the Holy month of Ramadan. He also directed to intensify market checking across the district so that the menace of black marketing and illegal profiteering is curbed besides quality and reasonable rates of essential commodities is ensured. Arrangements for regulation of traffic movement were also discussed during the meeting.
District and Tehsil level officers from Revenue, PHE, Power, Police, R&B, CA&PD and other departments attended the meeting.
