Kathua, July 13: Miffed over frequent theft incidents and failure of police to nab the culprits, people of villages including Logate Barwal, Sanji Morh, Bakral, Hamirpur, Saida and others staged protest demonstration at district headquarters.
The protesters said that increasing theft cases in the past few days has created fear among them while movement of suspicious persons has been noticed in villages. Later they also called on Deputy Commissioner Kathua and demanded security cover.
The protestors claimed that the thieves have decamped huge amount of cash and other important articles from their houses and shops, after broke open the locks. They castigated the police administration for their failure to nab the thieves.
Ghansham, Sat Paul, Arun, Chela Ram, Chuni Lal, Sudesh, Bodh Raj, Suraj, Singh, Gita Devi, Soma Devi, Asha Rani, Vaishano Devi, and Neelam Kumari were present. |
