National workshop concludes at GDC Rajouri

RAJOURI: The first ever ten-day long national workshop on Research Methodology for Social Sciences extended on demand for fourteen days concluded here today at Government P.G. College Rajouri . Approved and sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research and jointly organized by Govt. Post. Graduate College Rajouri and Department of Human Resource Management Central University of Jammu, the workshop witnessed series of sessions and lectures by renowned social scholars and educationists of the country.
This grand valedictory function was chaired by District Dev. Commissioner, Faqir Chand Bhagat, whereas Prof. Shabir Hussain Shah, Principal GDC Mendhar, presided over the event in presence of Dr. Javaid Ahmed Qaz,i Principal GDC Rajouri, Prof. Ashok Aima, Mr Des Raj Supdtt. Engineer, Prof. A. Rashid Chowdhary, Ex-Principal. The function was also attended by a large number of civil society members, students faculty members, officers and research scholars from within and outside the state.
Dr. Javaid Ahmed Qazi , Principal GDC Rajouri and Patron of the workshop, besides welcoming the guests, expressed heartfelt gratitude to one and all associated with this historic programme for making it a grand success and an example for many to follow. Deliberating on the utility of this mega workshop, he declared it as an eye opener for the research scholars who intend to contribute substantially in the field of research in a variety of areas, thereby enabling their respective societies in general and the country in particular to led the world. He also pledged to chalk out a comprehensive programme for promotion of academic and co-academic activities in the twin hilly districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
Prof. Ashok Aima, Head Department of Human Resource Management of Central University of Jammu, co-patron of the workshop, congratulated the Principal and faculty members of GDC Rajouri for making this dream project a reality and expressed his desire to work in collaboration with this College on several socio-educational projects in future as well. He also made some valuable suggestion to the District Administration for the advancement of education and awareness of students and youth of Rajouri.
The DDC expressed satisfaction over the successful completion of the workshop and declared it as a truly meaningful activity. He said the involvement of quality resource persons of international repute opened new vistas of knowledge, methodology of research and proper use of technology for the local scholars. He also congratulated the organizers for bringing this remote hilly District on the national map for very positive reasons.
The Director and the Co-director of the workshop, Dr. Shahid Mushtaq, and Prof. Anwar Chouhan along with various faculty members of the College were presented mementoes in recognition to their outstanding contribution to the workshop. Prof. Shamim Ahmed Azad and Prof. Mohammad Saleem Wani jointly conducted the proceedings on the dais whereas Prof. Y.P. Sharma presented the detailed report and Dr. M. K. Waqar Vice Principal extended the vote of thanks.
