| AKS club lifts Ashwani Memorial Hockey Tournament | | |

Akali Kour Singh (AKS) club lifted the Ashwani Memorial Hockey tournament by thrashing Khalsa club to 2-1 goals in final being played at K.K. Hakku Astro Turf Hockey Stadium here today. In the keenly contested final both the team played impressive and attacking to win the tournament but AKS club remained winner in the end. Narinder Singh struck first goal for AKS in the 4th minute of the match by the fine pass of Jagjit Singh from left position. By taking the leading one goal, AKS players dominate their opponents in all corners. D. Singh scored second goal for AKS club in the 23th minute of the match by penalty corner. The first half score was two goals to nil in favour of AKS club. In the second half, both the team played well and tried to dominate each other Rajinder Singh of khalsa club was able to put the ball into goal in 45th minute of the match and reduced the lead by one good. In the last ten minutes both the team players attached tried their best to score the goal but were unable to break the defence. In the end, AKS club clinched the cup of 2-1 goals. The match was officiated by Charanjeet Singh, Surinder Pal Singh, Vijay Pal and Jasbir Singh.
