Jammu Group Captain, J S Kler, VM, Station Commander of Air Force Station, Jammu will lead the Air Force Presidential Fleet Review Parade. President, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam will take the salute at this mega event, which will witness a fly-past by the entire range of all 27 aircraft types in the IAF’s inventory. Gp Capt Kler earlier has commanded the Air Force Day Parade at Air Force Station, Hindon on 8 October last year. This will be the fourth time in the IAF’s history that the President, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, will be reviewing Air Force fleet. The event also coincides with the ongoing Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Indian Air Force. As many as 107 aircraft ranging from “Air dominance” Sukhoi – 30 MKI fighters to IL-78 mid-air refuellers, will take to the sikes over Chandigarh on the occasion. This fourth one will see IAF display fighters like Sukhoi – 30 MKI, Jaguars, MiG-21s, MiG-29s and Mirage – 2000s and helicopters like cheetahs, Chetaks, ALHs, Mi-17s, and Mi-26s. Apart from other aircraft like HPT, AN-32s,IL-76s, IL-78s and Canberras. An UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) will also fly at an altitude of 15.000 ft to beam live pictures back to earth.
