| 'Decrease in terrorist incidents' | | |

There has been decrease in terrorist related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir State during the last three years. This was stated by the Union Minister of State for Home , Sh. Sriprakash Jaiswal in Rajya Sabha today in rely to a question of Dr. Prabha Thakur. The Minister informed the Rajya Sabha that the last three years has seen increase in tourist flow to Kashmir valley and about 14 lakh tourists have visited the State during the last three years.
Giving details about the terrorist incidents in the State during the last three years, the Union Minister said that while the Year 2004 saw 2565 incidents taking place, the year 2005 saw 1990 terrorist incidents taking place in the State. During the last year(2006), the number of such incidents showed a declining trend and 1667 terrorist incidents were reported from the State.
