Police identifies two pits near LoC, exhumation of bodies soon
Rajouri missing person’s case

RAJOURI, MARCH 7
The special police team probing into missing of three persons of village Kotdhara of border district of Rajouri since October 1997 has identified two graves about 500 meters to the other side of the fence near Kancha post in Peer Badaser area after a day long exercise on Tuesday.
The graves were identified and marked on the information of the relatives and some informers of security forces who were picked up by the police for interrogation.
“The exhumation process will be carried with in days in presence of Magistrate and DNA experts”, Deputy Superintendent headquarters Rajouri, K S Jasrotia who heads the investigating team told News Agency of Kashmir.
The investigations were taken up on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Parvez Ahmed Malik after the Kins of missing persons of village Kotdhara in Rajouri district lodged a written complaint.
The relatives of the missing persons have alleged that on 9 October 1997 the troops of 18 Dogra than stationed at Keeri sector picked up three persons from village Kotdhara who never returned back to their homes. According to the complaint, three persons identified as Abdul Aziz son of Sher Mohd (then 26), Mohd Yousef son of Raj Mohd (then45) and Mohd Aziz son of Mohd Hussain (then 22) are missing since October 1997.
On Tuesday the police team headed by Deputy SP headquarters Rajouri visited the identified spot and marked the two pits some 500 meters to the other side of the fence near Kancha post in Peer Badaser area. The area is presently guarded by 13 Sikh LI. “Yes we have marked two pits near LoC identified by the relatives of the missing persons and the further action will be taken in presence of Magistrate shortly”, said Deputy Superintendent of police K S Jasrotia.
Sources said, beside the relatives of the missing persons, the police had also picked up three security force informers to help in the case. The three sources who helped the police in identifying the graves were Mohd Mishri son of Lal Din of Lam Pukherni , Mohd Mishri son of Nek Mohd of Lam Lehra of Nowshehra Tehsil and Noor Hussain son of Mohd Mishri of Lam Lehra in Nowshehra tehsil of Rajouri district.
District Magistrate Rajouri, Pervez Ahmed Malik while giving the details of the case said the army was cooperating with the civil administration in the investigations and the process will be completed soon; however, Malik didn’t divulge the any thing specific about the exhumation of bodies. He said some more formalities are required to be completed before calling the DNA experts. He however, said that the entire process will be completed soon
