| Mystery shrouds CRPF jawan’s death | | |
Srinagar, Mar 7
A jawan of Central Reserve Police Force died under suspicious circumstances in CRPF Camp at Shiraz cinema Khanyar, here today.
Sources told News Agency of Kashmir that body of Showkeen Singh (NO: 950B79175) of 96 Bn CRPF was found lying in his residential quarter, this morning by his colleagues. Singh was immediately rushed to hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Police said that it has initiated proceedings under section 174 CrPC and was investigating the matter so as to ascertain the cause of death. (NAK)
President MC Banihal inspects ongoing works
Banihal, Mar 07 (NAK): Municipal committee President Banihal, Vikar Rasool today visited various areas of the town and took stock of on going works. He was accompanied by the engineering staff of concerned departments.
As per a Press release issued here today, Vikar inspected pace on developmental works being executed in various localities of the town. He impressed upon the agencies to speed up the same for ensuring timely completion.
Release said the Committee has taken up gradation of lanes and drains in most of the localities in the town and geared up its men and machinery for maintaining clean surroundings in the main market and adjacent localities. The Committee also purchased a Load carrier auto at the cost of Rs 2 Lakh for gathering garbage from the localities.
