| VHM militant apprehended (Updated) | | |

Awantipora police in a joint operation with 50 RR has apprehended one HM militant.
According to SSP Awantipora, on receiving a specific information a joint operation was launched by Awantipora Police and 50RR at Androosa, under the jurisdiction of P/S Pampore. As the Police zeroed in onto their target, they were indiscriminately fired upon which was duly retaliated. In the ensuing shootout one HM militant was apprehended in injured condition, he added.
Identifying the arrested militant as Shabir Ahmad Khanday, son of Abdul Aziz, resident Wuyan, SSP Awantipora stated that the arrested militant was wanted in number of militancy related incidents
