| Newly born baby found dead | | |

Body of a newly born baby was found by police near Ranbhir Canal in Krishna Nagar area, here today.
Official sources said that some passerby noticed a newly born baby, laying abandoned near the Ranbhir Canal, and informed the police.
Police personnel from Bakshi Nagar police station rushed to the spot seized the body of the child. The body was taken to Government Medical College Hospital for postmortem.
Police said that it has registered a case in this regard and was investigating the matter.
