Made public Kashmiri Shrines and Religious places of Kashmiri Hindus: VDPC

JAMMU, March 8
Vitasta Devsthan Prabhandak Committee (VDPC), Veerinag has expressed its shock to note that annexure A of Kashmiri Shrines and Religious Places of Kashmiri Hindus Bill was not made public during the notification published on February 11.

In a statement issued by Vitasta Devsthan Committee (Veerinag), said that after going through the Annexure B they were shocked to know that only one religious place of Tehsil Dooru in Anantnag i .e. Lokbhawan was included in the list while the Tehsil has many religious places like ancient shrine of Vitasta, Shiv Mandir of Umooh, Veerinag, Geeta Bhawan, and three temples in Veerinag, Magmawas at Halsidar Kapran, Temple and Dharamshalla along with land at Bongund, Veerinag, Temple at Pooli Pulsman Reshi and land of Ahalihanood, Temple Dharamshalla at Chinigund Veerinag, Ganesh Ball at Punzoo, Veerinag and temple including land of Ahalihanood at Bragam.

The Committee said that the Hindus of the tehsil Dooru have hundreds of Kanals of land and other movable and immovable properties existing there on and a large number of Dharamshals, temples have been destroyed by rioters in the area. It demanded that the Committee be given ex-gratia relief of the destroyed shrines of the area so that the Dharamshallas and temples are reconstructed and restored. It also demanded that the Committee be taken into confidence on the proposed Bill and the Committee be given representation in the Governing Board,.

The meeting which was held at jammu, attended by Advocate Badri Nath Pandita, Advocate M.K.Raina, M .K.Sharma ,R.K.Bhat,M.L.Bhat, B,L.Bhat ,Pran Nath (Bonagund),Sanjay (Ponzu),J,L.Pandita (chinigund),and many others,statement said.

The Committee has also hailed the Anantnag elections where Advocate P.N.Goja was elected as a president of Anantnag Nagbal Prebandak committee and elections were also termed as a step in the right direction, The efforts of R.K.Raina advocate were hailed and he was called the torch bearer of the renaissance.

The VDPC has also appreciated the steps of advocate B L.Pandita in making all time efforts for the development of famous Badrikali shrine and the shrine of Tiker Hindware

The VDPC member advocate Sh. Badri Nath Pandita also spoke on phone to Shri M.K.Kaw President AIKS,Delhi and intimated him that the governing body of the proposed governing board should be formed only after taking into the consideration of the various committees of the Kashmir pandit community. He also intimited that VDPC is the only authority body of the tehsil Dooru were many number of religious sites exit,which need proper care and attention.
The Committee also demands representation of Vitasta Devsthan Prabhandak Committee in Governing Board
