| ‘Govt strict on transfer policy’ | | Teachers forum call on Peerzada | | JAMMU, MARCH 08 Minister for Education, Science, Information Technology, Hajj and Auqaf Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed has said that under new policy, transfers of teachers during mid academic session have been strictly restricted. Speaking to representatives of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers’ Forum who called on him at his office chamber here today, Minister said that his department has made it a point to do away with frequent transfers as it goes against the interest of the students. Secretary Education, Mohammad Khazeer Wani was also present on the occasion. He said, besides putting a halt on transfers during mid session, the department has also decided to effect transfers of individual teachers only after completion of two years term at a particular place of posting. Responding to the demands of the visiting representatives, he said that government is keen to inculcate their suggestions if the same were in the larger interest of students. He said government has taken several measures to further streamline the department and ensure maximum working days in the schools. Mr. Khazeer Mohammad Wani, while asking the teachers to extend their cooperation for implementation of reformative measures said that the Government is committed to redress the genuine problems of the teachers.
