Sharma witnessed mock drill of preparedness
Industrial safety week

In connection with observance of 36th National Safety Week Indiana Bottling Plant Jammu, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd conducted mock drill to check preparedness, alertness and quick response to control any mis-happening in the plant. Minister for Labour Employment Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.
Principal Secretary Labour and Employment Mr. B. L. Nimesh, Labour Commissioner S.P.S. Betab, Plant Manager Mr. Girish Dua were also present.
Addressing on the occasion, Mr. Sharma said that review of preventive measures and holding of interaction session about adoption of safety measures are most essential to inculcate sense of alertness among the worker, while working with machines and tools.
Appreciating arrangements and safety measures adopted by the management of the plants, Mr. Sharma said that Indian Oil Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation are premier institutions of the state meeting the requirements of LPG of the people and helping save forest wealth. He said by opening LPG out let at Leh, the problems of the consumers in the region has considerable reduced.
Mr Sharma and also planted fruit plants in the complex and recorded certificate on the visitors book.
Mr. B.L.Nimesh stressed for strict safety measures and said that copies of factory acts be circulated among all workers and other functionaries of the Industrial units to make them aware about rule,regulations and safety measures to be adopted by them. He said any lapse on the part of one unit can put all living creatures and habitants in danger. He asked the management to ensure that all workers should get benefits of welfare schemes in vogue.
Mr. P.S.Betab who is also Chief Inspector Factories J&K also addressed on the occasion.
Mr. Girish Dua giving detail resume of the plant said that plant is spread over 40 kanls of land reducing 8000 LPG cylinders daily. He said all necessary arrangements to meet any mis-happing have been made for the safety of the workers. Mr. Alok Upadya Area Manager Jammu and Kashmir presented vote of thanks.
Ex-MLA Mr. Balwan Singh, Deputy Labour Commissioner Mr. M.Y.Zargar, Senior officers of Weights and Measures, Labour and Employment and large number of workers attended the function.
