| 2-week long FDP commences at IMPA | | | Srinagar, March 08 A two week long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) commenced at Institute of Management of Public Administration (IMPA) here today. Organized by the J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute (J&KEDI) in collaboration with National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board, Ministry of Science and Technology New Delhi the programme was attended by galaxy of scholars, intellectuals and professors drawn from SKUAST, colleges and polytechnics besides leading entrepreneurs of the valley. The main objective of organizing first of its kind entrepreneurship development programme in valley is to develop professional skills and entrepreneurship faculties among the resource persons who in turn can motivate educated unemployed youth to go for self employment programmes instead of hankering after government jobs. In her inaugural address, the chief guest Director Doordarshan Srinagar Ms. Shahzadi Simon emphasized the need for imparting skill oriented and vocational training to younger generation who instead of depending on government jobs would take up their own ventures. She said there is a need to develop and inculcate such habits in our youth who can take independent decisions after they complete their studies. President FCIK, Mr. Shakeel Qalander, consultant JKEDI, Mr. Vimal Koul, Deputy Director JKEDI, Mr. Bashir Ahmad and Ishtiaq Hussain also delivered lectures on entrepreneurship development and stressed for identifying the areas, which need our focused attention.
