| Kargil deputation calls on Mufti | | |

A deputation from Kargil led by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Advocate Ghulam Murtaza called on the PDP Patron, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed here. The deputation sought PDP Patron's intervention in the redressel of problems concerning the residents of the Kargil district. The demands raised by the deputation include operation of civil air service between Kargil and Srinagar and Kargil and Jammu to ensure reliable air-connectivity of the area, vacation of thousands of kanals of land at Kharbato Plato occupied by the army, starting of work on the Zojilla tunnel to provide all-weather connectivity to the desert district with the Kashmir valley, making special arrangements for ensuring supply of essential commodities in the region and formulation of a special employment scheme for the educated unemployed youth of the district. Sayeed assured the deputation that their genuine demands would be projected at the appropriate forum for necessary action.
