| Assistant Commandant BSF among four injured | | |
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 3: An Assistant Commandant was among four Border Security Force (BSF) personnel injured in a grenade blast and subsequent firing at Jamsalan in Udampur district of Jammu late last night, reports said Thursday. According to the reports reaching here, militants attack a search party of BSF with a grenade and followed it up the firing, injuring four soldiers including an officer, Assistant Commandant, at Jamsalan, a village in Gool area of Udamupur, during the intervening night of 2 and 3 August. Sources said that the search party was on its way to Daram when they came under the militants attack. The injured soldiers identified as Assistant Commandant, Pankaj Pundeer, Sub-inspector Rama Krishana, Head Constable Idnus and Cosntable Mohinder Singh were Hospitalised, sources said, adding that critically injured Krishana and Singh were airlifted to Northern Command Hospital at Udhampur. The militants escaped from the spot sources said, adding that heavy reinforcements of troops and Para-military forces have been rushed to the spot to Thursday morning nab the militants behind the attack.
