8/16/2013 11:44:48 PM
JAMMU, Aug 16: A delegation of Associated Chamber of Traders Federation (ACTF) led by its President Yash Paul Gupta called upon Union Home Secretary, Anil Goswami and apprised him about the negligence of the authorities which resulted in the tragedy of Kishtwar. The delegation told the Union Home Secretary that the entire incident was result of inordinate delay in providing security to the people whose shops, houses and establishments were looted and gutted. Consequently there is an atmosphere of panic and fear among both the communities in Kishtwar. The people of the whole region were so disturbed that the authorities had to resort to the clamping of the curfew. This resulted in great difficulties to the people throughout the Jammu province. The delegation also requested the Home Secretary to put in place a system which totally negates such happenings and also demanded sufficient security for the people.
Secretary General of the ACTF, Neeraj Anand also pleaded that speedy and sufficient steps should be taken to rehabilitate the affected people.
The Union Home Secretary gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that everything possible would be done according to law
