| Corruption charges against Patwari | | | Jammu | March 09
Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Mr. JR Kotwal has framed charges against Patwari Suraj Parkash, the then posted at Halqa Gahu-Manhasan for tempering revenue records.
While framing charge Mr. Kotwal observed that accused Suraj Parkash, the then Patwari Gahu-Manhasan, in the year 1998-99 entered into a conspiracy with accused Balbir Singh and in furtherance of the conspiracy, misused his official position to obtain undue advantage for accused Balbir Singh and himself and tempered the revenue records of the land in possession of Suraj Karan Singh and his brother Balwan Singh situated at Gahu-Manhasan. As such the accused committed offence u/s 5(2) PC Act r/w section 420/467/468/471 and 120-B RPC and directed the prosecution to lead with the evidence.
Court also framed charges against Balbir Singh s/o Rashpal Singh r/o Gahu-Manhasan in the same case under these sections. JNF
