| Gojri writers’ conference concludes | | Demand inclusion of Gojri in 8th Schedule vv | | JAMMU | MARCH 9
Voicing its demand for inclusion of Gojri language in the 8th Schedule of Indian Constitution, the All State Gojri Writers Conference which concluded here today passed several resolutions.
The Conference in a resolution has strongly pleaded for inclusion of the Gojri language in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution as it being the ancient language of millions of people.
In other resolutions, the conference demanded opening of Gojri Department in University of Jammu, due representation to the language on Kashir Channel, starting of Gojri news from Doordarshan Jammu, Srinagar.
On the concluding day of the conference Mahfil-e-Maqala, state level Gojri Musharia and Gojri folk music were organized and several participants read out their papers on different subjects. Urdu Musharia was also organized on the occasion apart from a Gojri folk cultural program by Bashir Mastana, Begum Jan and Allah Rehka Chi Chi.
