| India, Pak ease restrictions on diplomats | | | NEW DELHI | MAR 9 India and Pakistan have eased restrictions on movement of each other's diplomats, allowing them to travel beyond the respective capitals without permission. As per the understanding, Indian diplomats in Islamabad can go to Taxila and Hassanabad (Panja Saheb) and Pakistani diplomats here can go to Noida and Gurgaon. The arrangement was formalised last Friday when the two countries exchanged documents in this regard, official sources said here today. The understanding in this regard was reached last year but it could not become operational. The issue was then discussed during the talks between External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri in Islamabad on January 14 and they decided to go ahead with it. |
