| Cabinet sanctions sub-treasuries for Mattan, Trehgam | | >>Approves report for delimitation of panchayats | | Jammu | March 09 The state cabinet which met here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad approved creation/establishment of sub-treasuries at Mattan (Anantnag) and Trehgam (Kupwara) and transfer of following staff by internal adjustment: Assistant Accounts Officer, Accountant, Accounts Assistant, Cashier and peon one each. Cabinet also accorded sanction to the leasing out of 8 kanals of land situated at Government Silk Factory Rajbagh Srinagar presently under the occupation of Jammu and Kashmir Industries Limited to Passport Office (Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India) for establishment of its office-cum-residential complex at Srinagar at a premium of Rs. 50 lakh per kanal plus Rs. 150 per marla per year as ground rent for a period of 40 years extendable upto the period not exceeding 90 years subject to the following conditions: That the land shall be leased to Passport Office (Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India) Srinagar for construction of office-cum-residential complex by I&C Department (Government being the title holder of the land); That not more than one third of the sale proceeds shall be utilized for payment of salary of JKI employees while another one third shall be utilized for meeting statutory liabilities and the balance one third shall be utilized for offering VRS/GHS. The allotment of land on lease for the purpose specified above does not involve any violation of Master Plan. The cabinet also approved the report for the delimitation of panchayats and its formal notifications district-wise with the approval of Law Department. The cabinet also approved enhancement of kit/maintenance allowance in respect of non-gazetted police personnel working in jails from existing Rs. 15 to Rs. 40 per month. The cabinet also approved banning of commercial/passenger vehicles from plying on the road on attainment of 25 years of age in the State of J&K w.e.f 1-4-2007 and making compulsory a passenger/commercial vehicle aged between 15 to 25 years to a fitness test after every six months.
