Haji distributes Rs.6.60 lakh cheques among 399 beneficiaries
Says, beneficiaries under SWS to get computerized cards

Jammu, March 10
Minister for Social Welfare Haji Nissar Ali distributed cheques worth Rs. 6, 60,200 and 30 sewing machines among 429 beneficiaries of the Jammu East Constituency under various welfare schemes at a function organized by the District Social Welfare Office, Jammu held here today. Out of which an amount of Rs.1.10 lakh have been distributed among 11 beneficiaries under National Family Benefit Scheme, Rs.2.54 lakh among 141 beneficiaries under physically handicapped, Rs.1.63 lakh among 136 widows and Rs.1.33 lakh among 111 beneficiaries under old aged pension scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that education is imperative for the development of the society. He asked the people to educate their children for make them better citizens of future.
Haji Nissar said that all pending cases under various social welfare schemes would be cleared shortly as the Government of India has provided adequate funds under the social welfare sector. He said that peoples cooperation is must to for making the Social Welfare Schemes more vibrant and people oriented. He said that the department would computerize all the record of the cases under various schemes and be provided cards to get information anywhere on website or net. He appealed the people to come forward and take benefits of the schemes launched by the Centre as well as state government. He said that 15 students of 10+2 level belonging to Schedule Caste, Community of Jammu East Constituency would be imparted 6 months computer training.
Later, the Minister visited Gujjar Hostel Boys and inspected the progress of work repair and renovation work for which Rs.13 lakh have been released during the current year. He asked the concerned agencies to speed up work and complete the same within the stipulated time.
Member Legislative Assembly and Former Minister of State Mr. Yogesh Sawhney, spoke on the occasion and highlighted the policies and programmes of the present government. He said that the Azad led government has taken number of measures to provide better administration to the people and has ensured that all the sections get complete social justice.
Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Jammu Mr. Narinder Singh, Former Mayor, Jammu Chowdhary Monmohan Singh and District Social Welfare Officer, Jammu also spoke on the occasion.
