Kashmir office of BGSBU inaugurated

Srinagar, March 10
“Establishment of Regional Office of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri in Kashmir Valley shall prove a landmark in Educational history of Jammu and Kashmir State” said Vice Chancellor Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Mr.Masood A. Choudary while inaugurating the Regional Office of the University at Rose Lane, Parraypora Srinagar today.
On the occasion a galaxy of intellectuals, writers, Journalists and functionaries of the University were present.
Speaking to the media persons, the Vice Chancellor said that since the motto of University is to reach the unreached, the University decided to open a Regional office at Srinagar which shall primarily provide information and assistance to students of far flung area of the valley desirous of seeking admission in various courses the university offers. He said the Regional office will also be a centre for dissemination of Information regarding launching of new courses and programmes.
Mr. Choudary said that presently the University offers PG courses in Business Management, Financial Management, Computer Applications, through six schools of study run by competent faculty with state of art facilities and infrastructure. The admission to various courses is on the basis of competitive tests conducted through reputed agencies on the basis of merit, he said, adding that the university provides V-SAT and internal facility round the clock, hostels with modern facilities, residential sports, banking and postal facilitate are available within the campus.
On the academic front, the Vice Chancellor said the University is doing exceptionally well as there is overwhelming response from admission seekers for various courses offered by us saying that much attention is being accorded to the over all personality development of the students. He said 40 percent students presently under going PG courses in the University belong to Kashmir Valley adding that scholarships are being given to the meritorious students. He said the fee structure for the PG students is quite reasonable and at-par with other Universities in the state. He said the 3rd academic session would start from August this year in the University.
Present on the occasion among others were Director Information Khawaja Farooq Renzu, Registrar, Ghulam Shah Badshah University Mr. Ayaz Rasool Nazki, Director Radio Kashmir Mr. Ghulam Hassan Zia, Regional Officer of the University besides a galaxy of personalities.
