Deptt. of Social Welfare organized a programme in which Minister for social Welfare Hazi Nissar Ali distributed cheques to widows.
The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were MLA (East Constituency), Yogesh Sawhney, Mayor Narinder Singh, Ex-Mayor Manmohan Singh, Deputy Director, Social Welfare, Satpal, Khalid Zaharngir, district social welfare officer and Rashida Behgum corporator. Social welfare minister Hazi Nissar Ali distributed cheques of Rs. 10,000 to 11 widows, whose husbands died in accidents. Cheques and blankets were distributed to widows by Red Cross society.
Hazi Nissar Ali, speaking on this occasion, assured that this scheme will be started in the whole blocks. He also assured that all pending schemes of 2005-06 will be completed.
