| Geology, Mining employees discuss problems | | | JAMMU MARCH 10 In a joint meeting of Employees Association of Geology and Mining of both the divisions of the state discussed the problems being faced by the employees of the department and unanimously decided to project these through a memorandum to the concerned authorities for early redressal. The meeting was jointly chaired by Ravi Singh Bhau President of Jammu Province Association while Mohamed Ismail Lone General Secretary led the Kashmir based Association. The demands discussed included implementation of reorganization of ministerial cadre pending since 1989, creation of posts of drill operators and mineral supervisors, removal of secretariat training bar for promotion as senior assistant, grant of two and a half days pay for the field staff working on Sundays and holidays, promotion to trained survey helpers, amendment in non gazetted recruitment rules and regularization of all those daily wagers who have completed seven years of service. The meeting also decided to observe two days ‘Kam Chor Hartal’ on May 15-16, the call for which has been given by the Employees Joint Action Committee. The meeting among others was attended by Ishtiaq Ahmed Shah, Abdul Majid Parrey from Kashamir and Brijesh Methua, Bharat Bushan, Rajesh Mehta, Ram Dass, Ashok Kumar Sidha, Kukoooji Bhat, Darshan Kumar and Roshan Lal.
