3/10/2007 11:38:06 PM
JAMMU, MARCH 10
A 30 member group of elders from remote areas of Mahore tehsil returned after visiting Ambala, Delhi, Jaipur, Karnal and Ajmeer.
The tour was organized by the Uniform Force under Operation Sadbhavana. The group also visited Agricultural Institutes, important religious places and other historical monuments during their two-week long sojourn. The visit to National Dairy Institute Karnal was most noteworthy as it gave elders an insight into the modern handling of dairy farming.
On their return, the elders conveyed their gratitude to the Army for giving them an opportunity to have a peep into their country beyond Jammu and Kashmir and were all praise of the holistic development taking place around.
Talking to a group of media persons here they expressed satisfaction on the educative and enlightening tour and viewed that more of such tours should be undertaken and message of national integration be spread across the length and breadth of the state.
Commanding Officer 61 RR and other civilian officials received the group on their return to the town.
