| Women awareness camp concludes at Bariyan | | |

The 5-day women awareness generation camp organized by New Laxmi Welfare Society Samba concluded at Bariyan today.
Chairman Social Welfare Advisory Board G M Saroori who was chief guest at the concluding function dwelt at length about the schemes launched for the welfare of the women folk in the state and called upon them to avail the benefits from these schemes.
During the camp the issues relating to atrocities on women, killing of foetus girl child,
ill- affects of dowry and child marriage, apart from empowerment of women were discussed threadbare.
The President of the Society Vaishnodevi advised the women folk to set up self help groups for their socio economic development and assured that the society would provide all necessary assistance for the purpose.
Among others who spoke at the camp included Surjeet Kour Secretary of the society, Ashok Verma Sarpanch, Kiran Kumari, Sarika Jamwal, Santosh Kumar Anganwari workers and Subash Verma, a social worker.
