| JKAEA to go on indefinite strike from Wednesday | | | JAMMU MARCH 13 Following indefinite strike call given by the Jammu and Kashmir Accounts Employees Association (JKAEA) in protest against the indifferent attitude of the Government towards their demand for removal of disparity in pay scales, the functioning of the treasures all over the state would remain paralyzed tomorrow. A meeting of the accounts employees which was attended by the office bearers of the district level associations including Kathua,Udhampur, Doda, Rajouri and Poonch here today decided to go on an indefinite strike from tomorrow till its demand is not conceded by the government . The meeting held under the chairmanship of Jasbir Singh Charak was critical of delaying tactics of the government on the just and genuine demand and warned the government not to underestimate the strength of the employees who have been forced to resort to direct action, Association handout said. Lal Chand Sharma Vice President of the Association exhorted the fellow colleagues to show full strength and assemble at the venue of dharna to lodge a forceful protest The handout claimed that a similar decision was taken by the Kashmir wing of the association in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Altaf Hussain who said that all treasuries within the Kashmir valley and frontier districts of Leh and Kargil would remain closed for an indefinite period from tomorrow till finalization of the demand.
