Five- day training programme on women, child development held

The ministry of Women & Child Development, Jammu organized a five-day ‘Trainers training’ in integrated nutrition education for the field officers of the department’s of Social Welfare and Education. The main objection of the training was to highlight ménage and malnutrition and its fallout on the national economy.
Dr M I Parray, Director J&KEDI inaugurated the program.
A.K. Braroo, D.O. Ministry of WCD on this occasion, articulated the problem of malnutrition as it affects survival, development, growth, health, productivity and economic growth. He said that 60% under five mortality is related to malnutrition related factors.
Dr. Kailash Kohli, Dy.Director Health dept. emphasized that major investment in child health in India has not yielded substantial results.
M.I. Parray, the chief guest in his address said that nutrition & health are two sides of the same coin.
Anil Sharma, distt. Prog. Officer, S.W. Deptt. highlighted the achievements of ICDS.
