Taragami demands early assessment of almond Crops damage, restoration of essential services

Jammu, March 14
State Secretary CPI and MLA Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has called for immediate assessment of the damages caused to orchards especially almond crop due to heavy snowfall in the Kashmir valley.
In a statement issues here today Mr. Tarigami appealed the government to gear up its concerned units for the purpose and earmark relief for the affected orchardists. He said Horticulture sector being the mainstay of economy should be saved by timely action with regard to diseases control and other aspects.
Mr. Tarigami has also asked the authorities to take speedily to restore all essential services like water supply, Power in all the effected areas of the State to avoid inconvenience to the people. He stressed the need for pressing into service dewatering pump stations in the low-lying areas to de-water the accumulated water.
Mr. Tarigami also called upon CAPD Department to ensure essential supplies of Rice, Atta, Sugar, Kerosene oil in the remote areas were the roads are still snow bound.
