| Taj calls on Union Petroleum Minister | | Demands more LPG counters adequate stock of petroleum products | | Jammu, March 14 (INFO) –Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din accompanied by Secretary, CAPD called on Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Mr. Mulri Deora here last evening. He discussed in detail matters relating to the requirement and distribution or petroleum products in Jammu Kashmir including working of petroleum companies and stock position. The Hon’ble Union Minister assured full support from Union government to streamline the petroleum supply to the state. The main issues of building up of overall stock of petroleum products especially diesel and kerosene and overall supply position of LPG in the State and LPG connections in the valley also came up for discussion. Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din emphasized the need for streamlining distribution of petroleum products and opening up of adequate number of sale counters/outlets throughout the state so that LPG Gas is available in every area. Union Minister agreed to give one time registration of LPG Gas connection in the state especially in valley where during last 16 years the consumers have not been issued proper registration cards. Issuance of the registration cards to the consumers will help people to a large extent, he adds. The Union Minister for Petroleum also agreed in principle for establishing greater liaison between various oil companies at local level in the state in order to streamline the utilization of available stocks in the valley during road blockade period. Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din expressed his gratitude and thanked the Union Minister for his generous support to help the state consumers.
