| Jugal inaugurates first annual day of Degree College Reasi | | | JAMMU, MARCH 14
The Government Degree has celebrated its first annual day-cum-prize distribution function in which Minister for Rural Development Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma was the Chief guest.
The celebration started with lighting of traditional lamp followed by Sarasvati Vandana.
The students presented a scintillating cultural bonanza depicting the requirements of the college to make it more comfortable.
Congratulating the college management and the staff for achieving excellent results in various disciplines, the minister wished that the college will touch new highs in days to come. He said that the government has prioritized the education sector thus bringing in a discernible change in every parameter of the existing system so student fraternity should make optimum use of it.
Responding to the demands of the localities, the minister assured that he will take up these vital issues with the concerned authorities for an immediate redressal which include provision of bus service for the college students, more funds for development of college and introduction of commerce and science streams in the coming session etc.
Principal Government Degree College, Reasi, Dr. Sham Lal Gupta gave a detailed resume of the college activities and achievements accomplished during last three years and thanked the state government especially Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma for providing adequate facilities with regard to drinking water and allied facilities in the college.
Later, the minister distributed awards among the students who excelled in various disciplines.
Among others, Principal Government Post Graduate Degree College, Udhampur Mr. A. S. Rishi, Tehsildar, Reasi, Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma, SSP, Reasi, Mr. J. L. Sharma, SDPO, officers of various departments, Sarpanches, Panches, prominent citizens parents and Guardians of the college students were also present on the occasion. |
