| Training program for National savings agents organized | | | JAMMU MARCH 14 National Savings Institute Government of India organized a training program of small savings agents at Kathua today. The program aims at to equip the small savings agents with marketing strategies and to update their knowledge on small savings securities. Regional Director NSI Gurcharan Singh while speaking on the occasion said that Small Savings Scheme (SSS) play an important role in the development of the country as net collections under these schemes are pumped back to the state governments for developmental projects. He said that such training programs are held on regular basis and added that these are also being arranged in the districts of Jammu, Doda, Rajouri, Poonch and Udhampur shortly. In her inaugural address Ms Sarita Cauhan District Development Commissioner Kathua exhorted upon the small savings agents to work with dedication and inform the rural people especially the women folk about the benefits and importance of various saving schemes .She said that women should be encouraged to save money and invest the same in small savings schemes. A team of officers headed by Gurcharan Singh Regional Director Chandigarh imparted training to the agents and officers from Department of Posts also attended the training program.
