Rs.8 lakh incentive given to four surrendered militants

Senior Superintendent of Police Manohar Singh released monetary incentive amounting to over Rs. eight lakh in favour of four surrendered militants hailing from district Doda, who had surrendered in the recent past.
As per surrender policy, the cheques amounting to Rs. 2,20,551, Rs,1,97,274, Rs.1,94,954 and Rs.1,94,000 respectively was released as cost of weapons surrendered by them along with the monthly stipend. FDR for Rs.1.50 lakh in favour of each of the surrendered were deposited in the Bank which will be released on completion of three years from the date of surrender.
These surrendered militants were overwhelmed while receiving the incentive and have already joined the mainstream to lead a normal life .They thanked the government for releasing monetary benefits in their favour which would help them for their rehabilitation and expressed optimism about their bright future ahead.
