| HC grants further three months time for CCB election | | | Jammu, March 14 Justice Nirmal Singh of J &K High Court Jammu wing in an application filed seeking more time for completion of process for election of Citizens Cooperative Bank, granted three months time to Divisional Commissioner to complete the election process. However the Divisional Commissioner shall not take policy decisions like writing off loans, sanction of loans and recruitments etc till the new Board takes over, the Court ordered. Justice Nirmal Singh, after hearing Advocate Abhinav Sharma appearing for the petitioner and Sr. Advocate DC Raina with Advocate Vikram Singh appearing for the administrator Citizen Cooperative Bank, observed that the Court vide order December 1, 2006 directed the Divisional Commissioner Jammu to take immediate steps for holding election in accordance with Cooperative Societies Act, rules and bye-laws. It was further directed that the election process shall be completed within three months. Sr. Advocate DC Raina appearing for the Divisional Commissioner made a statement that the draft voters list has been prepared and objections to that have also been received. He further submitted that final list would be prepared within two days and after that election process will be completed. Taking into consideration all these facts the Court has granted three months time for completion of the election process however, debarred the Divisional Commissioner from taking any policy decisions.
