Four killed, seven injured in two road mishaps

Rajouri/Jammu, Sept 12: A tragic mishap on alternate route to Kashmir - Mughal road, atleast four passengers were killed while two others were injured as a Tata Sumo, they were travelling in, plunged into a gorge from the highway. Meanwhile five members from two families travelling in Wegon-R car were injured seriously when their car collided head on with an army ambulance near Rajouri city in the afternoon in Poonch today.The deceased were identified as Mohammed Junaid, Mohammed Azharudin, and Sheer Ali all residents of Thanamandi area in Rajouri. According to the reports from Poonch district, the accident took place at Lal Ghulam Jadgi Morh area after driver of the Tata Sumo (JK11-0585) lost control and it skidded into a gorge in which four passengers were killed.The rescue teams also rushed there and they shifted injured to the hospital. The injured were identified as Driver of Sumo namely Mohammed Shakil and Raiz Ahmed. As per the reports, the Sumo was on its way to Srinagar from Rajouri, when it met the mishap on Mughal Road.A case of mishap has been registered and investigation is started. Meanwhile five members from two families travelling in Wegon-R car were injured seriously when their car collided head on with an army ambulance near Rajouri city in the afternoon today. As per reports the families were on way to Jammu from Poonch to attend a funeral at Jammu and their car collided with an army ambulance on a sharp curve. All the passengers of car were got injured seriously and were shifted to District Hospital by the army and locals. The injured have been identified Upinder Sharma, Vandana Sharma, Neena Sharma, Poonam Sharma and Dheeraj Sharma all resident of Poonch city. Dr Rakesh Deputy Medical Superintendent District Hospital Poonch said that all were shifted to Jammu as the family members wish to go to Jammu for specialized trearment.
