Sports Reporter JAMMU, Sept 12: Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua shall take on Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) to defend the men's badminton title in the ongoing inter-college competitions, organised by the Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu (JU), here tomorrow. Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, GCET outplayed last year's runners-up, the combined side of Post Graduate (PG) Departments 3-0 to qualify for the final. On the other hand, GDC Kathua continued their brilliant show on the courts beating Government MAM College 3-0 in other semifinal of the day. The Detailed Results: Semifinals: GDC Kathua beat MAM College 3-0: Singles: Ankit bt Raghav 21-11, 21-09; Avishek bt Arjun Singh 21-13, 21-19. Doubles: Ankit and Dinesh bt Deepak and Arjun 21-07, 21-07. GCET beat PG Departments 3-0: Singles: Ankit bt Amit Jasrotia 21-18, 16-21, 21-12; Rohail Singh bt Taranpal Singh 21-19, 21-18. GCW Gandhi Nagar to meet GGM college Meanwhile, in the women's final, to be played tomorrow at 12 noon, Government College for Women (GCW) Gandhi Nagar shall meet GGM Science College. In the semifinals, played today, Gandhi Nagar trounced GDC Paloura 2-0 while Science College defeated PG Departments. Today's semifinals were officiated by the technical penal including Vikram Jamwal, Ravish Vaid, Pankaj, Suresh, Amit, Ajay, Sunil, Charanjeet, Rakesh and Kulvinder.
