JAMMU, Sept 12: With the expiry of the date for withdrawal of candidature today, the stage is set for a straight contest for the post of Secretary in the cultural body of the students, the Students Cultural Council of the University of Jammu (JU).
Contrary to last year's unanimous election for the post, two female students have come forward this time to add some interest in the process.
Joint Secretary in previous body, Divya Mahajan of Department of Commerce shall be there to contest against Apoorva Jamwal of the Department of Economics.
However, for other three positions of Joint Secretaries in the four-member Students Cultural Council, Ramika Devi of Department of Library Sciences, Anney Mattoo of Environment Sciences and Rahul Sharma of Department of Geography have got elected uncontested.
"Since there were only three candidates for as many posts of Joint Secretaries, they have been declared elected uncontested. A notification with regard to their election will be issued tomorrow," an official of the DSW said.
Now, the election for the post of Secretary shall take place on September 16 between 11 am to 3 pm at the office of the DSW. |
