early times report Jammu, Sept 12: To celebrate the 118th birth anniversary of Acharya Vinoba Bhave, a symposium on "life and contribution of Acharya Vinoba Bhave" was organized by Govt. College of Women Parade, in collaboration with Gandhi Global Family (J&K). Padamshree SP Varma, President, Gandhi Global Family, presided over the programme. Padamshree Prof. Nilember Dev Sharma and Padamshree Jitender Udhampuri were the guests of honour on the occasion. Dr. Hemla Aggrawal, the Principal, Govt. College for Women, Parade, in her welcome address highlighted the contribution of Acharya Vinoba Bhave in spreading the message of sarvodaya ( Welfare of all ) and impact of his Bhoodan Movement . On behalf of Gandhi Global Family (J&K), Padamshree SP Verma, Padamshree Prof. Nilember Dev Sharma and Padamshree Jitender Udhampuri honoured Dr. Hemla Aggrawal withMahatma Gandhi Seva Medal in the field of education on behalf of Gandhi Global Family J&K. S.P. Verma appreciated the initiative taken by the college in spreading the message of Gandhi. The programme was ably conducted by Maria Farooq, student of B.A. Part- 1st , Meenakshi Manhas stood 1st, Shriya Raina stood 2nd and Shimena Singh stood 3rd in the competition.
