| DIQA starts interaction at faculty level | | Choice Based Credit System in JU | | early times report JAMMU, Sept 12: Close on the heels of Academic Council approval, the Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA) of the University of Jammu (JU) held an interactive session with faculty members of teaching departments, falling under the faculty of Life Sciences today. The event was part of the chain of activities being undertaken to implement Choice Based Credit System in the University from next academic year in pursuance of the decision made in this regard in the last Council meeting. "Adopting this system will bring the University at par with other eminent Universities of higher learning in the country and give much needed academic flexibility to the students to pursue courses of their choice," said Director of the DIQA, Dr Meenakshi Kilam. A detailed presentation was made by the Dean, Faculty of Sciences, Prof. SK Khosa amidst several issues raised by Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof Anima Langer and members of the faculty. Pertinent to mention here that Deans of various faculties and conveners of Boards of Studies and the Academic section are actively engaged in preparing for the transition to Choice Based Credit System from the Academic year 2014-15. |
