Burglary solved Within 24 Hours

SAMBA: In another major achievement Samba police has unearthed a burglary worth lakhs of rupees at Samba. Interestingly the stolen gold and cash has been recovered in just 13 hours thus beating all previous records.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Samba, DySP Abrar Chowdhary while addressing a press conference at Samba informed that on 12 March one Ashok Kumar S/O Shiv Ram of ward number 11(Arazi) Samba was making arrangements in respect function of sutra of his son, in which connection he called a painter to his house for painting two godrej almirahs. Both the almirahs were shown to the painter by the owner to note their dimensions. The crooked painter however stealthily observed the presence of gold items and cash in one of the almirah, said the SDPO.
On the intervening night of 12/13 March the painter entered into the house of Ashok Kumar after crossing the compound wall of the house and managed to enter the room where almiras were kept by cutting the grills of one of the windows. Inside the room the culprit opened the almirah with a master key and decamped with gold items worth 1.5 lakhs and two cheques worth one lakh which father of Ashok Kumar received as gratuity on his superannuation, said SDPO Chowdhary,
The matter was reported to police and an FIR was lodged in Police Station Samba under 457/380 provisions of Ranbir Penal Code. Acting swiftly Sub-Divisional Police Officer Samba under the supervision of SSP Border Rajinder Gupta constituted two police teams one led by SDPO himself and another led by SHO Varinder Singh to investigate the crime. In the meantime an alert was sounded on all bus stops in and around Samba and rail stop Samba and Vijaypur beside putting the policemen in mufti all around. Meanwhile police received information that a person is hurriedly and in confused state asking the station staff and others about the train timings at railway station Samba.
Sensing the foul play police team led by SDPO himself alongwith SHO Varinder Singh rushed to the rail stop Samba and took the absconding painter into custody who preliminarily stated that he is a resident of Sumbh and going to Kathua to meet his in-laws. However during sustained interrogation he revealed that he is a resident of village Gogal, Meerut and is running a shop in Samba in the garb of a painter. During further interrogation he admitted his guilt and disclosed that he has concealed the gold and cash worth 3.5 lakhs in connivance with his wife. Police recovered all the stolen items alongwith gold and chequs.
Police therefore achieved a big breakthrough by making the recoveries in just half a day. Police has arrested painter Tajdin S/O Shamshad Din of Gagol, Meerut UP and obtained 4 day remand for him to ascertain whether he is involved in some other burglaries.
