Girdle the loins, show quick response: Azad to Adm

Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad Wednesday directed divisional administration Kashmir to girdle the loins, be responsive and put in all efforts to relieve the people of the difficulties caused by untimely heavy snowfall and incessant rains. He had an extensive tour of Srinagar city visiting scores of areas right from Barzulla to Sidharbal-Hazratbal.
Chief Minister who was accompanied by Minister for Education Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, Minister for Power Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora, Director General of Police Mr. Gopal Sharma and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Mr. Basharat Ahmad visited exterior and interior areas including Soura, Ali Jan road, Idgah, Sherikhas, Safakadal, Karan Nagar, Barzulla, Hazartbal, Sidharbal, Lal Bazar, Batmallu, SHMS, Bemina, Power Grid Station etc.
He got first hand information of the difficulties let loose by the vagaries of weather by personally witnessing the ground situation and interacting with large number of people in these areas.
Chief Minister said that quick response to mitigate people’s problems in the time of need speaks about the effectiveness of administration and its preparedness to face the challenges. He asked officers and concerned functionaries to leave no stone unturned in restoring all essential public services and focusing attention on dewatering operation in lowlying areas in the city and the towns where accumulated snow and rain water causes lot of inconvenience to the people.
He directed for mobilizing all pumping stations and mobile pumps available with various departments including fire and emergency services department so that dewatering is carried on war footing.
Chief Minister said that functionaries of every department especially directly concerned with public service facilities have all the more responsibility to work with spirit, zeal, exhibiting promptness and dutifulness.
Chief Minister also directed the divisional administration to ensure adequate availability of essentials in every market and check prices avoiding designs of hoarders, black-marketers and profiteers.
He visited Bemina Grid Station, inspected various units and also took stock of power restoration position. He was informed that restoration operation for power supply was in full swing and 100% restoration will be ensured shortly.
During his visit people while hailing Chief Minister for personally monitoring the snow caused situation, visiting people and issuing on spot instructions for mitigating difficulties people are facing, they extended whole hearted support to Mr. Azad. “We are with you to cooperate in every field and every step being taken for the benefit of general masses”, they assured Chief Minister.
