| CAPD intensifies checking in Jammu | | | JAMMU, MARCH 14
Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Jammu has constituted a special squad under the supervision of Assistant Director CAPD Jammu to check the prices in Jammu city. A special drive was launched by the department with the help of police today and different markets were checked which included Bus Stand, Hari Market and Gumat.
During the raid 16 shopkeepers were fined for violating Essential Commodities Act. Besides 7 shopkeepers were also challaned for not displaying the rate-list and 4 Domestic LPG cylinders were seized from their shops.
The department has requested the people to check the eatables which are packed without printing and are without any kind of firm name/brand/mfg. date and expiry date before purchasing the same.
