| PAC suspends 17 days old stir, AC Revenue transferred | | People lauds SSP Kathua’s role | | Kathua | Mar 14 The 17 days old hunger strike by the activists of People Action Committee (PAC), who were sitting in front of the DC Office Kathua in protest against the AC Revenue, was suspended with the offering of juice to the people on strike by SSP Kathua, J P Singh here today. According to reports, the activists of PAC were sitting on hunger strike for the last 15 days in support of their demand for the transfer of Assistant Commissioner (AC) Revenue in the wake of large scale distortion in the revenue records. They were also demanding thorough inquiry into the whole matter. This morning, SSP Kathua went to the people on hunger strike with the transfer order of the said AC. Thereafter, PAC calls off its stir after the offering of juice to the people on strike in front of hundreds of people. Speaking on the occasion, President PAC, Capt (Retd) Gian Singh Pathania reiterated the resolve of PAC to continue their stir against the corrupt practices of government officials. Meanwhile, he appreciated the role played by SSP Kathua in resolving the tangle.
