| Vocalist, Sunil Chatterjee performs at NDS programme | | | Jammu | Mar 14 Nami Dogra Sanstha today organized a musical evening with a well-known vocalist of the country Sunil Chaterjee, in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages. Manjit Singh, Minister of State for Education presided over while Dr. Rafiq Masoodi academy secretary was the guest of honour. Sham Sunder Anand Lehar, was the chief guest. Sunil presented Raag Madhvvanti in ‘Bada Khayal’ and Ek Taal.’ which was followed by ‘Dhrut’ in teen tal. He also presented thumari in Mishar Khamaj. He was accompanied by John Massi on Tabla, Masoom on Sarangee, Chander Lata & Ranjit Singh on Taan Pura. Dr. Rafiq Masoodi IBS, Secretary cultural Academy speaking on this occasion, said that it has been Endeavour of Cultural Academy to organize programme on all dimension of Art and Culture. Lehar described singing a way of meditation which unites a person with God. Manjit Singh lauded and appreciated efforts of Nami Dogri Sanstha and Cultural Academy for organizing this cultural programme. He said singing is a natural gift which god hassien to few but for general well being of the humanity. The programme was compared by Yaspal Yash General Secretary of NDS. Dogra Harish Kaila thanked Sunil chatterjee for coming to Jammu to perform his classical recital. Vote of thanks was presented by Capt. Lalit Sharma.
