| Ashok calls attention of Govt towards matter of public interest | | | SRINAGAR, AUGUST 03 – In reply to calling attention notice moved by Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma in Legislative Council today, the Minister of State for R&B Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak stated that “the position with regard to the Solki-Arthama, Kurl-Mogla and Rajal Garan roads is that the length of Solki-Arthama road is 10 km out of which one km is metalled and 9 km is shingled. This scheme is not included in the plan. However, maintenance work on the road is being done under non-plan grants. During the current year, it has been proposed to lay RBM in bad stretches of the road under non-plan. The said work has been allotted and will be taken up shortly. He said although, the said road is trafficable and two buses (one from Rajouri and one from Sunderbani) ply on this road daily. The condition of the road needs considerable improvement as the shingling/metalling of the road was completed long back. Improvement/upgradation of the road has been proposed under PMGSY (Bharat Nirman Programme). Survey has been completed and project is being formulated. He said moreover, to connect Solki with Sarooti via Arthama, a bridge in km 9th having a span of 2x22 mtr. has been proposed under ADB funding. For this project, Due Diligence Report (DDR) is under preparation, on being completed will be submitted to ADB for approval. After completion of the said project, Arthama village shall be connected with Sunderbani via Thandapani as well” |
