Kunzar Police rescues 50 tourist vehicles

Putting their own life at risk, Kunzar Police has rescued 50 Tourist vehicles which were stranded due to heavy snow on Srinagar-Gulmarg road here today.
According to reports, on February 12 at around 10 in the night, 50 tourist vehicles got stranded on Kunzar road due to heavy snow. Many trees had fallen down on the road, blocking the vehicles and the tourists were left on the mercy of climate. There were several women and children in the vehicles who were without food and proper clothing and were in grave danger.
On receiving information about them, a Police party from Police Station Kunzar led by SDPO Tangmarg reached to the spot and started clearing the road. Putting their own lives at risk, the policemen started cutting down the fallen trees and cleared the snow.
Sources revealed that inspite of complete darkness and blinding snow, the road was cleared and 50 trapped tourist vehicles were rescued by the policemen.
