JAMMU MARCH 15 As a part of 150 years of First War of India’s Independence, several organizations, youth clubs, Mahilla Mandals, in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, organized various function in Jammu district. The activities included cultural programs at village Khara, Madana, Purmandal, Qaderchak, Dlhani, Jakh, Khokipur, Rathana, Selehar, Vijaypur, Bishnah, Marh, Nud, Sarna. Daboh and Supwal in Saamba, candle rally at Nagrota, Dansal, Marh, Chatha, Gujran, Khour, painting competition village level freedom race at Nagrota, Khanpur, Khara,Madana, Quaderchak and Vijaypur. The youth affiliated with NYK also took a pledge to serve the country and follow the foot steps of the freedom fighters. Apart from this, a function was also organized at Nagrota wherein the social workers of the district were honoured. Chak Qadre Youth Club Vijaypur also organized several functions to commemorate 150 years of first war of freedom struggle. The functions included signature campaign, group meetings and candle rally. Club President Rakesh Magotra and other resource persons highlighted the importance of the 1857 first ‘Andolan’ and urged the youth to help in national integration J&K Dehati Sewa Sanstha, a social organization of R S Pura also organized awareness program, group meetings, signature campaign and a candle rally. RSS Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha in its resolution while saluting to the sacred memory of the martyrs of the 1857 War of Independence has called upon the countrymen in general and Swayamsewak in particular to keep the memory of this glorious history alive through various programs so that the spirit of supreme sacrifice for the sake of the country remains ever lasting.
