| KMP seeks continuation of Army: Memo to Guv | | |
JAMMU, MARCH 15
A deputation of Jammu and Kashmir Kissan Mazdoor Party (KMP) led by its President, Sardar Kalu Khan Hamdard today met Governor Lt. General (Retd) S Ksinha at Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum listing various demands.
The memorandum among other things seeks continuation of the Army for internal security duties till normalcy returns to the State and ex-gratia relief to the farmers of border areas whose houses and crops have been damaged due to incessant rains and snowfall.
The demands also include provision of various facilities to labourers working in Katra and Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine periphery through Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, timely provision of fertilizers and seed, up gradation of facilities in schools in remote areas etc.
